What to Expect From Your Assessment
We know that starting a neurodevelopmental assessment can feel overwhelming. Our process is clear, structured, and designed to understand you as a whole person, not just your symptoms.
Whether you're being assessed for ADHD, Autism, or both, the steps below explain what will happen.
1. Referral Form
You’ll begin by completing a referral form through our website. This helps us understand your needs and decide whether our service is right for you.
If your referral is accepted, we’ll send you an email inviting you to make payment.
Once payment is received, your assessment process begins.
2. History Questionnaire
You will receive a secure link to a detailed questionnaire about your personal history and experiences.
This helps us understand your background and daily life.
3. Optional Observer Questionnaire
You’ll have the option to nominate someone outside your home, like a colleague, teacher, manager, or friend, to complete a short questionnaire.
This isn’t required, but is strongly recommended.
An outside perspective helps us understand how your traits show up in different settings.
It adds valuable information that can improve the accuracy of your diagnosis and recommendations.
4. Online Consultation
You will be invited to book your video appointment. This is a structured conversation with your clinician to explore your experiences in more detail.
The consultation length is slightly longer for combined ADHD and Autism assessments.
We explore your strengths, challenges, and how these have affected different parts of your life.
If any further exploration is needed, such as a second video call or other assessment tools, your clinician will discuss this with you directly.
5. Clinical Formulation and Team Review
After all information is collected, your clinician will bring everything together to create a personalised clinical formulation.
Your case will also be reviewed by other professionals as part of our team-based approach.
This supports a high-quality, balanced diagnostic decision.
6. Your Assessment Report
You will receive a comprehensive written report that includes:
- A summary of the information gathered
- A clear diagnostic outcome
- An explanation of how your traits present
- A list of individualised, practical recommendations based on your needs.
You can choose whether the report:
- Is password-protected when emailed to you (This isn’t required, but is recommended)
- Is shared with your GP (This isn’t required, but is recommended).
7. Follow-Up Discussion (Optional)
After receiving your report, you can request an online session to discuss your results and ask any questions.
This session can help:
- Clarify parts of the report
- Explore next steps
- Understand how to use your report in school, work, or healthcare settings.
The Same Pathway for Everyone
The steps above apply to all types of assessments. The only difference is that combined ADHD and Autism assessments include a longer consultation and diagnostic consideration for both conditions.
Every assessment:
- Takes a holistic view of your neurodiversity
- Is person-centred, not checklist-based
- Results in meaningful recommendations you can use in real life.
